Travel : A top pursuit among high income Asia Pacific households

According to a survey carried by Visa, travel is the top pursuit for nearly three-quarters of high income Asia Pacific households . The ‘Spending Patterns and Perspectives of High Income Households’ survey revealed that some 73% of high income Asia Pacific households had travel as their main personal interest over the next two years, a Xinhua report said. Travel was well ahead of food (43%) and music (31%) with 63% of respondents saying that they went away for weekends overseas every six months or so.

The survey was carried out in Singapore, South Korea, Australia, India, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. According to the report, the survey showed that respondents from Hong Kong and India were the region’s most frequent travellers. Over 4,000 people were interviewed during the survey.
