As per the Media Note mentioned by the Office of Spokesperson Washington DC, on November 9, 2012 Maria Otero; Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights will travel to Nepal from 17th of November to 19th of November 2012.
On November 17 Under Secretary Otero will arrive to Kathmandu, Nepal. During her two days stay in Nepal she will meet with Nepalese Government officials including Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai. Despite of several meetings regarding the social issues with several social organizations she will tour the Patan Durbar Square with Kathmandu representatives Preservation Officials. She will also visit the Khumbu Glaciers and connect with officials and NGO interlocutors on water security issues in the region.
