Tara Air, a domestic airline is all set to operate scheduled flights between Pokhara and Manang from the first week of April, 2012. According to the private airline, it will operate a 19-seater Twin Otter aircraft on the said route. The flight from Pokhara Airport to Humde Airport in Manang will roughly take 20-minutes. The fare (one way) has been fixed at Rs.3,300 for locals and USD 123 for tourists.Manang Valley ,which lies in close proximity to Mustang and the Nepal-Tibet border, has a varied landscape offering wonderful trekking experience.

Nepalese Skydivers Jump Solo for the First Time in Pokhara
Everest Skydive in partnership with private domestic airline company Tara Air, have launched skydiving in Pokhara. Test flights were conducted successfully yesterday and today at Pokhara’s Chhine Danda. Skydivers flying on Tara Air’s Pilatus Porter aircraft leaped from 14000 feet and landed at the site of the Pokhara International Airport ( under construction). Yesterday’s action saw Everest Skydive’s main organizer and co-ordinator, Mr. Suman Pandey and Wendy Smith taking the leap. Today three Nepalese skydivers, Phul Bahadur Tamang, Bibek Pandey & Dik Bahadur Khirsina jumped solo. These three have created history. They are the first Nepalese solo skydivers.
Everest Skydive 2010 (Autumn) Begins!
And the World’s Highest Skydiving adventure Everest Skydive gets underway….
Test jumps for the Autumn edition of Everest Skydive 2010 took place at Shyangboche (12350 feet) dropzone today (13th October 2010).

Derek Thomas (UK) jumped solo from 25,000 feet while tandem master Kevin Hardwick(UK) made a tandem jump with German camera flier/ television producer Alex Behse from the same height.

Both the jumps were made from Tara Air’s Pilatus porter aircraft at around 12 noon(local time).
