Skytrax’s annual 'World Airline Awards' were announced recently at Farnborough International Airshow in UK. Qatar Airlines bagged the coveted ‘World’s Best Airline’ award for the second consecutive year, while Asiana Airlines from South Korea and Singapore Airlines won the second and third spots. 18 million international fliers voted between July 2011 and June 2012 on different aspects of airline passenger experience to choose the winners. This years award was dominated by airlines from Middle east and Asia. Etihad was adjudged the ‘Best First Class Airline’, Cathay Pacific the ‘Best Business Class Airline’, and AirAsia the Best Low-Cost Airline

World Airline Awards 2010
Skytrax 2010 World Airline Awards was held in Hamburg, Germany on 20th May 2010, attended by over 40 airlines from around the world. More than 17.9 million air travelers of different nationalities took part in the 10 month survey conducted from July 2009 to April 2010. The survey included over 200 airlines, from international airlines to domestic carriers. The survey measured over 38 items of airline product and service standards.
Asiana Airlines bagged the prestigious ‘Airline of the Year Award’, Etihad received the worlds best first class carrier.Qatar Airways was named the winner of the World’s Best Business Class Award while Emirates bagged the World’s Best Airline Inflight Entertainment Award.Garuda Indonesia was named ‘World’s Most Improved Airline’ and Dragonair the World’s Best Regional Airline.AirAsia bagged the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Award. Kingfisher Airlines was named the winner of the Best Airline in Central Asian region.
