January 25 2014, Mika Hakkinen, Formula One World Champion in 1998 and 1999 driving McLaren Mercedes , thrilled the fans with his exceptional control behind the wheel after zooming in a white Mercedes. Finnish F1 legend Mika went out on the spin at Syakar Company Test Drive Center in Kathmandu.
During his three day visit to Nepal Hakkinen, the global responsible drinking ambassador for Johnnie Walker, encouraged the Nepali fans to ‘Join the Pact’ of Responsible Drinking. He said, “I am passionate about encouraging responsible drinking. I urge everyone to never mix drink and drive as it is not only about hurting yourself but also others outside when you lose control of the wheel,”
Hakkinen recalled the Australian Grand Prix Qualifying Race in Adelaide where he went through the life-threatening accident back in1995 and said: “Out there on the circuit you have all the safety measures on standby and still you get hurt when you are not in control, so please be careful and stay safe.”

The longest serving global responsible drinking ambassador who has visited 30 countries over seven years spreading his message expressed his interest to visit Nepal for longer time. With a jovial smile on his face he said, “I’ve heard about the beautiful temples and the mountains here in Nepal. I would like to come here again next time, for a longer period to visit.”
