Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival 2011

Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival (NIIFF 2011) will be held in Kathmandu from April 22 to 25. Organized by the Indigenous Film Archive (IFA), the festival will showcase 42 films from 20 different countries, including Australia, Brazil, Burma, Canada, Russia, Taiwan, Peru and the US. Eight Nepalese films representing the indigenous culture of the Magar, Newar and Rai communities will also be screened during the festival.
Winning entries will be selected by jury members Jasen Ryle, a filmmaker based in Toronto, Suvi West from Finland and Tsering Rhitar Sherpa a Nepali filmmaker. The best three films at the festival will be awarded the golden, silver and bronze drums. Screenings will be at City Hall, Rastriya Sabha Griha and Nepal Tourism Board.
