The renovation of UNESCO World Heritage Site listed Boudhanath has been completed. The holy shrine of Buddhist was damaged by the 7.3 moment magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on 25 April last year. The earthquake damaged mainly the upper part of the Stupa and also caused other minor effects. Ever since, the holy shrine was under renovation.
After nearly 18 months of the earthquake, the renovation of the 36 meter tall Boudhanath Stupa has completed. The renovation was completed with the cost of Rs. 230 millions. The Stupa was opened for public with an inauguration ceremony held on 22nd November.
