In light of the recent severe weather, we are issuing this Rasuwa flash flood travel advisory concerning the Bhote Koshi river flood. A large flood has hit the area, greatly disrupting the trekking routes in Syabrubesi and causing the Trishuli highway to be closed. We are strictly following the Nepal flood tourist safety guidelines and are currently helping affected guests in cooperation with the local authorities.
To make sure that our clients who have upcoming bookings or those who are considering making bookings are well informed, we are providing smooth, free itinerary changes so that you can move to safe alternative treks in Nepal or choose fully flexible postponements because of the Nepal travel warnings 2026. The Bhote Koshi River flood is still going on, and we are asking all travelers in the affected areas to stay calm, avoid the river corridors, and adhere to the official advice.

Because of a sudden flash flood on August 26 in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers, Explore Himalaya is carrying out an immediate suspension of travel in the Rasuwa district and in the downstream highway areas. Safety is our top concern.
If you are at present trekking in those areas, you should follow the instructions of your guide and move to higher ground, avoid the riverbanks, and stay in safe places.
Travel to Rasuwa or Langtang has been temporarily suspended for those customers who have itineraries scheduled for these areas. Our team is currently arranging alternative itineraries to areas that are not affected, such as Everest and Annapurna, and we are providing flexible postponements without any extra charge.

Not at all, both the Kathmandu Valley and Tribhuvan International Airport are still fully running and entirely safe. The recent flash floods have only affected the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river valleys, which are situated well outside the capital. International flights are continuing to arrive and depart as scheduled, and domestic flights to areas that have not been affected, such as Pokhara and Lukla, are running normally. Kathmandu remains a very secure central hub, with uninterrupted power supplies, telecommunications, and hotel services, so it is an ideal base as our operations team smoothly adjusts your itinerary.
Certainly so. Nepal is a large and geographically varied nation, and the present flash flood is only affecting the Rasuwa district and the downstream areas of the Bhote Koshi/Trishuli Rivers. Well-known trekking areas such as the Everest (Khumbu) region, the Annapurna Sanctuary, Manaslu Region, Makalu Region, Dolpo Region, Kanchenjunga Region, and Mustang Region are entirely safe, dry, and have not been in any way impacted by this local incident. Flights to Lukla (Everest) and Jomsom (Mustang), together with the direct flights to Pokhara (Annapurna), are running as usual. 13 Day Manaslu Circuit Trek Nov 2018 We have just returned to Kathmandu after a wonderful trek around the Manaslu circuit, starting in Soti Khola and finishing in Jaget. The trek and transport out and back to Kathmandu were very well organized. Our guide, Bharet Rana was excellent, arranging our tea-house accomodation and meals each day, without hitch. He was always good humoured and provided an interesting commentary on sights along the way.
Our Everest Base Camp trek was a wonderful and memorable one. Everything was very well organised. Thank you Explore Himalaya and the staffs for such an excellent service. We were taken care of from the moment we landed in Ktm till the day we left. The Guides and the Porters team of Explore Himalaya are very friendly and helpful. They took care of every little things during our trek. Some walked faster, some slowly and few could not but No one was left behind. They walk with your pace and motivates you until you get up. Anuj Pandey, MD of Explore Himalaya was available 24 hours a day when anybody was in need, he even flew to Namche to check if everything was going well and if everybody was doing good. The Guides Bibek Pandey, Bhuwan Tamang and Ram Rajbhandari along with their 5 Porters were the main pillars who made our mission accomplished. Helicopter flight to Everest basecamp Mar 2023 Organized for us a life time experience by helicopter to the base camp. Very well organized and all what has been promised was delivered. Would highly recommend this service.
