Tour Duration & Distance
The Nepal Motorcycle Tour is a complete 10-day / 9-night adventure package that takes you through Nepal’s most diverse landscapes. You will enjoy 5-7 exciting riding days, plus dedicated time for Kathmandu sightseeing, full-day explorations in Pokhara and Chitwan, and seamless arrival and departure transfers.
In total, you will cover an impressive approx. 954 km of pure motorbike riding across varied terrain. Daily riding distances are comfortable and enjoyable — ranging from 76 km on the short Bandipur–Pokhara leg to around 201 km on the Pokhara–Lumbini stretch — giving you plenty of time to enjoy the views, stop for photos, and soak in the changing scenery.
Highest Point
The highest point of the Nepal Motorcycle Tour is reached on Day 3 at the charming hilltop town of Bandipur (1,030 m/3,379 ft). From here you enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang ranges. This gentle elevation offers beautiful mountain vistas without the challenges of high-altitude riding, making it an ideal introduction to Himalayan motorbike touring.
Trip Grade
The Nepal Motorcycle Tour is officially graded as Moderate Adventure. This grade reflects the combination of winding mountain highways, longer riding days in the Terai, and the remote feel of Chitwan’s jungle roads. The tour is fully supported and suitable for riders with a moderate level of fitness and riding experience. It involves mostly paved and well-maintained roads with some scenic valley sections, variable weather, and comfortable daily distances.
Experience Required
This tour is best suited for riders with basic to moderate motorbike touring experience, especially on highways and winding mountain roads. While fully supported by a professional Nepalese Road Captain and backup vehicle, participants should feel confident riding on paved highways, gentle descents, and occasional rural roads. No technical off-road or high-altitude expertise is required — just good riding skills, physical fitness, and the ability to enjoy long but relaxed riding days (4–6 hours). Riders who have completed multi-day tours in hilly regions will feel completely at home.
Drinking Water Staying hydrated is essential on the Nepal Motorcycle Tour. We recommend drinking only bottled or properly treated mineral water throughout the trip. Safe drinking water is readily available for purchase at all hotels, resorts, and villages along the route. To help reduce plastic waste, you may bring a reusable bottle and refill it with boiled or treated water where possible. Mineral water and other beverages are not included in the tour price and are considered personal expenses.
Best Seasons
The best seasons to join the Nepal Motorcycle Tour are March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn). During these months the weather is dry, clear, and stable, providing perfect riding conditions with blue skies and excellent visibility of the Himalayan peaks. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons and lush green hills, while autumn offers crisp air and golden light over the Terai plains. The tour avoids the monsoon months (June to August) when heavy rains can affect road conditions in the lowlands.
Food and Meals
Meals on the Nepal Motorcycle Tour are designed to keep you energized and satisfied. Breakfast is included daily at all hotels and resorts. On riding and excursion days you enjoy full-board meals featuring a mix of Nepali, continental, and local specialties — dal bhat, fresh river fish, momos, thukpa, and authentic Tharu dishes in Chitwan. Western options such as pasta, sandwiches, and salads are widely available. We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary requirements — simply let us know in advance. All meals as indicated in the itinerary are included in the tour price; drinks, mineral water, and extra snacks remain personal expenses.
Lodges, Hotels and Accommodation
Accommodation on the Nepal Motorcycle Tour offers the perfect balance of modern comfort and authentic Nepali experience. You will enjoy 3 nights at the modern 4-star hotel in Kathmandu and 2 nights at a beautiful lakeside resort in Pokhara, both on a single-occupancy basis with attached bathrooms. You will also stay in a charming heritage-style hotel in Bandipur (one night), a peaceful hotel in Lumbini (2 nights), and two nights at a comfortable hotel/resort in Chitwan — all on single-occupancy basis. Every property is carefully chosen for its location, cleanliness, and warm hospitality, ensuring you rest well after each day on the road.
Permits Required
All necessary permits for the Nepal Motorcycle Tour are included in the package price and arranged by our team. This includes Lumbini and Chitwan National Park entry fees. Our experienced road captain handles all paperwork and formalities so you can focus entirely on riding and enjoying the journey. No extra permit fees or complicated procedures are required from participants.
Insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants on the Nepal Motorcycle Tour. We strongly recommend comprehensive coverage that includes emergency medical evacuation, motorbike activities, and trip cancellation. Personal insurance and medical expenses are not included in the tour price and remain the responsibility of each rider. Please ensure your policy is valid for Nepal and adventure motorbike touring before you travel.
Power Socket
Nepal uses 220 volt electricity with Type C and Type D power sockets (two round pins). Reliable power sockets are available in all hotels and resorts for charging phones, cameras, and accessories. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter and a small power bank as a backup.
Extending the Trip
Many riders choose to extend their Nepal Motorcycle Tour with extra days to make the most of their Himalayan journey. Popular options include 2–3 extra nights in Pokhara for paragliding or boating on Phewa Lake, additional jungle activities in Chitwan (elephant bathing or more safaris), or deeper exploration of Lumbini’s monasteries. We can also arrange extensions in Kathmandu Valley or a short helicopter tour. Our team can easily customize any extension to match your interests and schedule.

The Nepal Motorcycle Tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. On Day 1 our support team meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and provides a private, comfortable transfer directly to your hotel. On the final day (Day 10) our team arranges your return transfer to the airport for your international departure. All arrival and departure transfers are fully included in the tour price.

Dos and Don’ts for Riders
We recommend the following practices to our clients to make their travel experience comfortable and memorable:
• Use both of your hands rather than one when giving or receiving something, even money. Using of one hand only is considered rude.
• Do not point with a single finger but use a flat extended hand specially to indicate a sacred object or place.
• In Nepal, people (especially women) do not normally shakes hands when they greet one another, but instead press palms together in a prayer-like gesture known as “Namaste”. This way of greeting is used extensively in all parts of Nepal.
• It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on their way to shrines, especially if you are non-Hindu.
• Avoid touching women and holy men.
• Cows are sacred in Nepal. Hence, it is respectful not to eat beef in front of local people.
• Try not to step over or point your feet at another person, a sacred place or a hearth.
• Remove your shoes when entering a home, temple or monastery (and do not bring leather items to Hindu temples)
• Non-Hindus are not allowed in some temples. Make sure about it before you enter.
• Dress appropriately and respectfully at all times, and especially when you visit religious places.
• Take permission before taking photographs of locals, holy shrines and temples.
• Avoid smoking and drinking in religious settings.
• Don’t offer food to a Nepalese after tasting it, nor eat from a common pot, and avoid touching your lips to a shared drinking vessel.
• Acts of affection and handholding between women and men is not appreciated.
• Walk around Stupas and sacred stones inscriptions clockwise, and don’t take any of the stones.
• Raising your voice or shouting is seen as extremely bad manners in Nepal. It can only worsen a matter.
• Do not give anything to children or elderly, as this will only encourage begging behavior. If you want to help, donate to a trustworthy charity or a school. Your tour company can advise you on this.
• Make sure that any antique that you buy is legal. Do get a receipt of authenticity when purchasing an antique replica. This may be checked when you want to take it out of the country.
