Explore Himalaya Organizes Corporate Team Building Programme

On the first week of March (10th to 13th, March, 2011), Explore Himalaya organized a Team Building Programme (3 days & 4 nights) for a corporate group from the Middle – East, whose main office is based in the UK. Altogether there were 14 members of seven different nationalities. Explore Himalaya had signed up the group for Team Building activities at Gokarna Forest Resort at Sankhu and at The Last Resort in Kodari. Popular with corporate groups, these activities help team members bond, build trust, improve communication, instill leadership qualities and learn how to work in coordination.

After arriving in Kathmandu the group was driven to Gokarna Forest Resort. Fully rested, after lunch they were divided into four different groups and the Team Building session commenced. Each group was given a different task to complete within a stipulated time. There was fun and laughter all around, as each group tried its best to complete the task. A BBQ dinner with a Nepali cultural program served as a fitting finale for the team’s first day.

Early next morning, the group was escorted for a guided sightseeing tour to Bhaktapur- a medieval Malla kingdom. After an insightful tour they were driven to Dhulikhel for lunch. Enjoying the Himalayan panorama from a hill-side resort the group was served a sumptuous lunch. The next stop for them was the Last resort. Driving along the Nepal- Tibet border, the group reached The Last Resort, located in Kodari the Nepalese border town. After some more group activities it was time for dinner. A live band played while dinner was served. This made the experience doubly pleasurable.

After spending an enjoyable day, the group checked out of the resort and headed to Dhulikhel. Post lunch they were taken for a short hike to Chandaswori. The group’s trip ended as they were driven back to the hotel for final pack-up and departure.

Comments by the group:
"Our trip in Nepal with Explore Himalaya was really amazing. It was a great experience for all of us and we will never forget it. In our case: a group of 14 people, 7 nationalities, 3 different religions, team building is more than a fun trip with the colleagues. It is really important, strategic and needed: to understand each other and manage to work together efficiently on a daily basis in the office, whatever our differences.

Your program helped us to reach this goal, and also gave us the chance to better know the new joiners, to discover some people’s personality, to improve the communication and the trust within the team and to understand how important the team work is.Thank you again for everything!!"

"Definitely don’t regret my choice to have selected your company for our team building trip 2011 and will recommend it! Good luck to all the staff for the future: to our guides, driver, cameraman, Prabhakar, Maya, and everyone we had the chance to meet during our trip!"
