What’s the Everest Three Passes Trek?

Everest Three Passes Trek is a bucket-list adventure in Nepal’s Khumbu region. It takes you over three famous high passes: Renjo La (5,360m), Cho La (5,368m), and Kongma La (5,535m). You also visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m), Kala Patthar (5,545m), Gokyo Lakes, and Gokyo Ri, with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and more. It’s tough, with high altitudes and rugged trails, but totally worth it!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

We teamed up with Kipling, EverTrek, and Meine Welt Reisen (MWR) — all respected names in adventure travel. Explore Himalaya has been their dedicated logistics partner for many years, working closely on a B2B basis to ensure seamless operations. MWR, Kipling, and EverTrek brought their expertise, energy, and vibrant group spirit, making sure every trekker was fully prepared and supported. Together, we made this trek smooth and unforgettable for seven groups from around the world.

From meetups in Kathmandu to cozy teahouse stays, we planned every step. Our guides, gear, and rest days kept everyone strong and smiling.

The Adventure: Crossing the Three Passes

It all kicked off with an exciting flight to Lukla’s tiny airport. The 17–21-day trek was a mix of challenge and wonder:

  • Renjo La Pass (5,360m): The pass wowed everyone with views of Everest and sparkling Gokyo Lakes. Trekkers loved the giant Ngozumpa Glacier and Gokyo’s cozy vibe.
  • Cho La Pass (5,368m): This pass was tricky with icy paths, but our guides kept everyone safe with crampons and poles. The views of Ama Dablam were a big reward!
  • Kongma La Pass (5,535m): The highest pass felt like another world, with quiet trails and huge views of Nuptse and Lhotse. Crossing the pass was a victory!

Trekkers also hit Everest Base Camp, chatting with climbers, and climbed Kala Patthar for a sunrise view of Everest’s peak. Gokyo Ri gave a wide view of the Himalayas—pure magic!

How We Nailed It

Getting everyone through this tough trek was a big deal. Here’s what made it work:

  • Awesome Guides and Sherpas: Our Sherpa guides, with years of experience, kept everyone safe and shared cool stories about the mountains.
  • Smart Rest Days: Stops in places like Namche Bazaar, Dingboche and Gokyo, plus short hikes, helped trekkers handle the high altitude.
  • Great Support: From airport pickups to tasty meals, we took care of everything. Porters carried bags so trekkers could focus on the fun.
  • Team Spirit: Explore Himalaya’s group chats and personal touch made everyone feel like family.
  • Perfect Weather: Spring’s clear skies and dry trails made the passes easier to cross.
