Nepal finds the direct air passage from Europe, as the Turkish Airlines flew from Istanbul to land at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on 2nd September, 2013.
Istanbul-based Airbus A330 aircraft landed at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) at 7:15 am with 280 passengers on board. It left for Istanbul at 8:45 am.
The airline has planned to operate four flights to Kathmandu- on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. “Sezgin Saglam, Senior Vice President — marketing and Sales of Turkish Airlines, during a press meet in Kathmandu said “Though we are presently operating four flights a week, we are working on to operate flights on a daily basis from the next month.”
Director General of CAA Nepal Mr. Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, welcomed the 27th international airlines at TIA. He added “the regular flight service between Nepal and Turkey will strengthen the bonds of friendship between two nations as well as support the business between two countries by extending bilateral trade relations.”
