A trek along the Rhododendron forest with the glorious view.

Mr. Troels Andersen and Ms. Benedikte Durbahn  wanted to trek to Poonhill in the Annapurna region. Poonhill trek highlights the excellent views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna and Fishtail. Apart from that the sunrise at the hill is an exceptional view also the cultural exploration in the traditional Gurung village Ghandruk is beyond imagination. Kipling Travel our exclusive country partner arranged the tour for two Danish visitors.

Sun is about to show up- Poonhill.

They had the warm welcoming session at the TIA, Kathmandu by the EH representative on November 19. They chose to drive in a car to Pokhara on 20th. Pokhara is the naturally blessed city 200km west of  Kathmandu. It is the highly recommended point as a starting place for the treks to the Annapurna region. On the 21st, their GAP trek began. The first day trek brought them to Ulleri 2020m.

Ulleri is normally a first night stoppage during the trek to Poonhill. The second day of the trek ascended to Ghorepani 2874m. On 23rd, the trekking trial brought them to Poonhill 3200m. Poonhill provides the spectacular mountain views and it also links the trial to famous Annapurna Base Camp. It is also regarded as one of the best view points in the entire world. It is one of the most visited places by the trekkers in Nepal.

Next day, they descended down to typical Gurung village, Ghandruk. The villagge is enriched with ancient Gurung culture. Amongst the dense vegetation, the traditional houses with welcoming inhabitants lures every visitor at least for night stay. Gradually, the trekkers came down to Shyauli Bazaar on 25th. Next day, on 26th they trekked down to road on the Highway from where they were escorted back to Pokhara.
