A German frequent traveler to Nepal, Mr. Friedhelm Nunnemann first came to Nepal in 1998. In 2012 he was here in Nepal for the ninth time. He was attracted to Nepal because of the mountains fourteen years ago. He was very much passionate of trekking in the Himalayan region of Nepal and to our surprise his passion in the mountains remains intact till the date. However, after his frequent visits to Nepal he was also interested in the arts, culture and architecture of the Kathmandu valley. In the last few years his hobby has been dealing especially with the sculptures, temples and the arts in Nepal.
He made the three attempts to trek to Upper Dolpo to Jumla. Four years ago his mission failed because of the snow at the first bypass and two years ago with the French group he was unable to reach his destination because of the landslide. In 2012, Explore Himalaya took this assignment to accomplish the dream of this enthusiastic traveler. This year we had the different plans; we chose his route from East to West and finally he reached his destination with his friend Mr. Guenther Karl Pletzer. We are very happy for him as his mission to complete Upper Dolpo to Jumla Trek finally got accomplished.
Except his trekking two years back with the French group all of his trekking was organized by Explore Himalaya.
He explains the reason for choosing Explore Himalaya as his travel partner.
“Basically, I have two reasons. People at Explore Himalaya know me very well and they make me feel special whenever, I approach to them. Secondly, I know Explore Himalaya is highly experienced in arranging treks around the region. Explore Himalaya is the organization of professionals. They know very well what exactly I want from them. They are experts in risk minimizing during treks and other adventurous activities.”
The seventy year old Mr. Nunnemann has trekked to Lantang, Everest, Kanchenjunga, Jumla, Upper and Lower Dolpo. He wants to come to Nepal next year and trek to Annapurna region.
Hats off to you Mr. Nunnemann.
