2007 TRADE SHOWS
February and March for Explore Himalaya had been very insightful and educative as we represented Nepal in many international tourism events.
Mr. Bhagirath Singha, our General Manager, participated in FITUR 2007, a Trade fair held from 31st January to 4th February in Madrid.
We received overwhelming responses from visitors and co-participants during BIT (Borsa Internationale del Turismo) Milan held from 22nd to 25th February. Mr. Bimal Chhetri, our Sales and Marketing Manager, and Robiolo Battista, our Marketing Consultant, were the representatives from Nepal in this Trade Fair.
In March there was another international Trade Show in Germany, 41st ITB (International Tourism Exchange) Berlin, from 7th to 11th in which Suman Pandey (our President ), Julien Van Loye ( our Marketing Consultant ) and Ms. Savneet Bagga ( Operation Manager of our India-based office, 'Kipling India Travel' ) were amongst the participants from 184 countries and territories.
Recently, Mr. Suman Pandey attended 2007 ASTA's International Destination Expo – Asia convention in Jeju, South Korea, from 25th to 29th March 2007.
All these forums have proved very fruitful for us in understanding international tourism industry, internalizing the interests of consumers and building a network of contacts for business sustainability. |

Tibetan sacred mountain: Mount Kailash
Mount Kailash, located in far west corner of Tibet is the most sacred peak of Asia. The beauty of the 6700-meter high Mount Kailash, that looks like a symmetrical cone shaped rock capped by pure crystalline ice all the time, is echoed in various mythological and literary works.
Dominating the north of the Himalayan Barrier with its spectacular view, the Mount Kailash (or Mt. Kailas) is equally venerated as the holiest pilgrimage site by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bön-Po. |
A three-day trek (Parikrama or Kora) around Mount Kailash over a 5630 meter Drolma La (pass), clockwise for Buddhists and Hindus, and anti-clockwise followers of the ancient Bon religion, is said to erase the sins of a lifetime. To complete the Kailash pilgrimage one should bath in the sacred Lake Manasarovar, stunningly set on the Tibetan plateau bordered by the majestic Gurla Mandata.
