Mithila Cultural Museum, located at the premises of the holy Janaki Temple in Janakpur was formally opened for public viewing from Sunday. Displayed at the museum are ancient and valuable artifacts (jwelleries, costumes and relics) dating back to more than 10,000 years. The museum has been built at a cost of 23.1 million NRS. Janakpurdham has immense religious value for Hindus as according to the Hindu epic of Ramayana it was the maternal home of Sita, wife of Lord Rama.
